Background
Elections Saskatchewan is an independent, non-partisan agency of the Legislative Assembly charged with the mandate of directing and supervising the administrative and financial conduct of provincial electoral events.
The election cycle is a four-year cycle which involves planning (years one and two), organizing (year three) and delivery and implementation (year four) of a general election. During this period the volume and breadth of the workload fluctuates as does the number of staff.
Position Summary
Elections Saskatchewan (ESK) is implementing a new election management system, the Saskatchewan Election Management System, or SEMS which be used in the 2024 general election. SEMS will be used extensively by approximately 200 people located in 61 constituencies in the lead up to the election. In addition, 12,000 temporary election workers and 260 candidates will have the option to access portions of the EMS through two portals.
The Application Owner and Support Lead will be part of the Elections Saskatchewan Election Readiness Team and will become an expert user of SEMS. This position will be responsible for testing and accepting final changes to the EMS prior to the election. The position will also lead the development and implementation of an application support plan for the 2024 general election including hiring, training and managing a team of support agents. This position will also support super users and will work with IT resources to ensure production systems are operating effectively and efficiently.

This is a full time term position until March 2025. Additional/extended hours will be required during certain phases of the election cycle.
This position is classified as an MCP 06. The salary range is $76,896 to $99,960 annually.
