RPP Meeting & Final Reminder on Filing Deadlines

Registered Political Party Annual Meeting

The annual meeting between Elections Saskatchewan and representatives of the province’s registered political parties has, for a number of years now, been an important event in our calendar year. Unfortunately, the presence of COVID-19 meant that we weren’t able to meet last June for our annual gathering (although we did meet several times in the fall in advance of our October election). The current pandemic situation in the province makes it unlikely that we will be able to gather in person this summer for such a meeting. I would like to propose that we meet virtually in order to continue this tradition.

Given the virtual nature of this meeting, I thought it would be easier for everyone if we split the meeting over two mornings as opposed to dedicating an entire day. I would like to propose that we meet on Tuesday, June 8 and Wednesday, June 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon each day.

We will provide details on how to join the meeting closer to that date. While the agenda is still being developed, I anticipate that we will take a close look back at our recent election while also turning an eye towards our plans for the next one, scheduled for October 28, 2024. Within the next few weeks, my office will send out a request for an RSVP from you and one other member of your registered political party, along with a few more details of what we will be discussing. For now, please mark these dates in your calendar.

Final Reminder – RPP Election & Fiscal Period Return Deadlines

This will be your final reminder that the deadlines for your registered political party’s election expense return and fiscal period return are fast approaching.

By legislation, registered political party election expense returns are due on Monday, April 26. And again, by legislation, fiscal period returns are due later that same week, by Friday, April 30. If you have questions, please contact Jennifer Colin as soon as possible at [email protected].

Returns will be posted to the Elections Saskatchewan website immediately after the due date or once we have received all of them, whichever happens first.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Boda
Chief Electoral Officer
Province of Saskatchewan
