May 31, 2024 – Today Elections Saskatchewan tabled its most recent annual report, titled Service. Integrity. Innovation. Moving Modernization Forward, in the Saskatchewan Legislature.

“My office has spent much of the past year refining a modernized voting system, testing it, and determining what aspects of the system will be used in the upcoming election,” said Dr. Michael Boda, Chief Electoral Officer of Saskatchewan.

A few of the highlights over this past year that have helped lead Elections Saskatchewan to being ready to administer this fall’s general election are:

  • Setting the framework for what the 2024 fall provincial election would look like; working with legislators on the Board of Internal Economy to determine what elements of modernization would be included.
  • Administering three by-elections: Lumsden-Morse, Regina Walsh Acres and Regina Coronation Park, all of which served as valuable learning experiences for this fall’s general election.
  • Coordinating the first ever Voter Registration Month – encouraging people to confirm, update or add their information to our Register of Voters.
  • Building our election team by hiring returning officers and election clerks for all 61 of the province’s constituencies. These returning officers and election clerks are now working throughout the province to secure voting locations that will be accessible and convenient for voters this fall.

“As we mark our strategic plan’s halfway point, we are not only on track to succeed; we are looking ahead to what comes next,” said Dr. Boda.
