The Honourable Randy Weekes, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan announced today November 4th, 2021 that the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan ordered the appointment of Dr. Michael Boda to another term as Chief Electoral Officer.

He was appointed to a first term on May 7, 2012 and, since then, has conducted two general elections, six by-elections, and has introduced the province’s new permanent register of voters.

Operating under the authority of The Election Act, 1996, the Chief Electoral Officer ensures the fair, equal, impartial, and independent administration of electoral affairs through accountable monitoring of procedural, operational, administrative, and financial electoral processes. The Chief Electoral Officer also maintains public relations programs to raise public awareness of the offices mandate and oversees delivery of electoral educational workshops to election officia,ls throughout the province to ensure effective administration of election activities.

Speaker Weekes said “It has been a pleasure working with Dr. Boda in his role as Chief Electoral Officer for Elections Saskatchewan. I look forward to a continued positive working relationship.”
