Expense Limits & Update on Candidate Election Expense Returns

Expense Limits

Expense limits for 2021 have been updated and have been posted on our website at https://www.elections.sk.ca/candidates-political-parties/electoral-finance/expenditures-and-election-expense-limits/.

Consistent with legislative changes made last year, there is no longer an adjusted expense limit for candidates and registered political parties based on the number of names on the voters list for a constituency. If you have questions, please contact Jennifer Colin, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, at [email protected].

Candidate Election Expense Returns – Update

All candidate election expense returns received by the January 26 deadline have been posted on our website with a status of “As Filed.” These returns can be found within the Reports & Data section of our website: https://www.elections.sk.ca/reports-data/candidate-political-party-finances/candidate-party-returns-ge/candidate-party-election-expenses-2020/. Returns received after the deadline will be updated online on a weekly basis.

Our electoral finance team has begun their review of candidate returns and will be processing interim and auditor reimbursements as quickly as possible. We appreciate the cooperation that you, your candidates, their business managers, and their auditors have shown to date.

The deadline for registered political parties to file their election expense return is Monday, April 26, 2021. RPP annual returns are due later that week on Friday, April 30.
