September 26, 2022. The First Preliminary Count in the Saskatoon Meewasin provincial by-election is complete. A total of 4,627 ballots were counted tonight. Results online at: https://results.elections.sk.ca/.
A total of 53 ballot boxes were reported on by-election night. This includes 44 regular polls, six advance polls, one Homebound poll, and two Personal Care Facility (PCF) polls. Additional polls will be added for the Vote by Mail ballots (which are counted at the Second Preliminary Count and the Final Count), extraordinary voting, and hospital voting. This leaves a final total of 56 ballot boxes following the administration of the event.

Voter turnout after the first count is 37.51 percent of the 12,336 registered voters in Saskatoon Meewasin.
Timelines for counting:
First Preliminary Count. Took place after 8 p.m. on September 26. Counted were ballots from advance voting, homebound voting, by-election day and personal care facilities.
Second Preliminary Count. This takes place two days after by-election day, so on September 28. Mail-in ballots received by September 23 are counted in Regina as part of this count. Results are cumulative.
Final Count. Takes place 12 days after by-election day, so on October 8. Final Count to include mail-in ballots received after September 23 and by October 6. May also include Hospital, Remand and Temporarily Displaced Voters ballots, and Extraordinary Voting ballots. Results are cumulative and final results produced.
