Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, voting in the provincial election will look different for Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation Community voters.

Chief Peter Beatty and Council, working with public health officials and Saskatchewan’s Chief Electoral Officer, have determined that in-person advance and election day polls cannot be held safely in Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation Communities.  Elections Saskatchewan will offer an alternative form of voting that public health officials say is safe for voters. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, this will be your only opportunity to get a ballot.

Starting October 16, residents (members and non-members) of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation Communities must call Elections Saskatchewan at 1-866-351-0040 if they want to vote in the provincial election.  By calling this number you will be applying for an Extraordinary Voting ballot kit

Starting October 16 – Call 1-866-351-0040 between 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Deadline to request a ballot: Tuesday, October 20 by 5:00 pm

In order to apply over the phone, you will be asked for:

  • Your name;
  • The community you live in;
  • Your birthdate, address and phone number;
  • Whether you are a member/non-member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation

If English isn’t your first language, feel free to have an interpreter call on your behalf.

Your ballot application will be handled over the phone. Then closer to Election Day your ballot will be delivered to your place of residence.  Elections Saskatchewan workers will be wearing a mask, will meet you at your front door, and will maintain physical distancing at all times.

After marking your ballot, election workers will come by your residence on or before Election Day, October 26, to pick up your sealed, secret ballot and return it to Elections Saskatchewan.

To apply for an Extraordinary Voting ballot kit, please call 1-866-351-0040
