The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated the introduction of a number of public health measures. These measures have significantly altered the landscape in which elections must be administered. These changes have affected how Elections Saskatchewan administers the vote generally and in particular, in acute care facilities, long-term care facility, and personal care homes. To facilitate the process in a responsible and safe manner, the Chief Medical Health Officer has formally listed Election Administrators as Critical Services and has worked with the Chief Electoral Officer to review electoral processes and COVID-19 mitigation from a public health standpoint.
