Classroom Resources

While Elections Saskatchewan does not have a current Classroom Resources package, we will provide resources such as mock ballot templates, information on the electoral system, glossaries, mock voting screens, and other Elections Saskatchewan material on request.

If you are a teacher, please contact Elections Saskatchewan for more information on the resources available to you.

In addition, while not designed specifically for Saskatchewan provincial elections, these lessons from Elections Canada and the CBC can augment students' understanding of basic democratic principles:

 

 Elections Canada's "Choosing our Mascot" lessons for Kindergarten to Grade 4

Elections Canada's "Choosing our Mascot" lesson plan introduces younger students to election basics by having them decide on a class mascot.

Elections Canada's Election Simulation/School Election Guide (grades 5 and up)

In these lessons students elect a representative who will act on their behalf to solve a problem in the school or classroom. Alternatively, students campaign for an activity in which they believe the class should participate.They also provide downloadable sample ballots, Voters' Lists, and forms for the official statement of results.Election Simulation Lesson Plans
